The 2008 election year is the year for reelection or replacement of county Family Court Judges, Lawmasters, whatever they want to call themselves. I am taking all emails to build a database by county of how the process goes. I'd like to have the Family Court Judge's name for each county. Then I want to know how many divorces favored the woman in property distribution, alimony, child support, and custody. I would like to know how many hearings it took to get your final and how long after the final you received your order. I would like to know how long it was from the filing date to the final hearing. Anything that went good or bad in your case is also welcome. It's time to burn up the phones, fill the email boxes, and write letters to all the elected officials whether they want to hear it or not!!!
If you are running for one of these seats in any county, please send in any comments you would like to have posted to the readers. I will be selling space starting January 2008. It will be very cheap. It's better for me to sell the space cheap to those who are going to help change the system. I won't know you are for system change if I don't know your views. Be forewarned. For those not for revamping this system the bottom of the ad will say, "PAID FOR BY ME". That alone will be a sign for 50% of the voters to vote for anyone running against you. Lawmakers likewise send comments for the readers. You may have been elected this year. That means you could let us know how you are changing the system. You may be aspiring for election or reelection in '08. You need to start now building a followership. I don't need your voting record. I can look that up. I probably will prior to posting any of your comments. Add them if you like but they will be verified. I want your ideas and plans for changing the system.
Typical information listing for those considering taking a shot at being a lawmaker:
Name: A Senator Wannabee
Experience: Family law attorney 7 years. State Representative 1 term. Introduced bill requring
tougher penalties for those who do not report income during child support computations.
Ideas/Notes/Talking Points: Tell us
what you think needs to happen to fix this mess. Tell us what bills you would introduce and how to get better enforcement on the laws
already on the books. This is not an
advertisement. You have to pay for them. It's a law. I didn't make it up. Take it up with your lawmakers.(advertising space will be
amazingly cheap) Tell us what your ideas are on how this system is broken and how it should be fixed. Elaborate.
NOTE:
This is a sample, of course.
Did you know?
One delegate can kill a bill by stopping it from being put on the agenda!!!
Single handedly Delegate Carrie Webster (Charleston area) who is the chair of the Judiciary
Committee has the power to keep bills from being heard just by not putting them on the agenda. This shouldn't only
ruffle the feathers here but for anyone who wants to see legislation debated and put to a vote.
What if this power belonged to Hitler? I'll go no further on that.
But for our children here is what she accomplished...
Killed House Bills 2943, 3065, and 2030. (Singlehandedly, remember, and without debate). I saw the news blurb.
She said she didn't know enough about them.
We all need to write her letters and send them to her home address
to make sure she gets them. Her home address is 1539 Lee Street East,
Charleston, WV 25311. We also need to have each one of us call her office to
voice our displeasure in the way that she killed the bills. Her office phone #
is 304-340-3252, her business phone # is 304-345-0346, and her home number is
304-342-1013. Call all three numbers and ask one simple question. "Why did you
kill these bills when they are in the best interest of the children?"
(Part of this is an excerpt from an email received from MAD.

Imagine if this were drunk driving legislation or abuse legislation!!!
It may be your bills next time that she singlehandedly decides is not worth the lawmakers time.
I'll be adding shortcuts here to plain text pages of the latest updates.
